“Shelter from the storm …”

If you would be interested in extending your hand to a child who’s life has been profoundly affected by the July 2010 flood you could consider accepting financial sponsorship for one of the over ninety children who have had their lives dislocated by this natural disaster.  For 32,000 India rupees per year you can provide all necessary dormitory accomodation, meals, uniforms, tuition and books for a Lamdon School student who is now forced to live in the school hostel because their home has been destroyed or their parents killed or injured by the floods.  That is $700 USD or $2 a day.

Please email ladakhflood@gmail.com for more information.

The Lamdon School account at State Bank of India-Leh is “operational”, so if you would like to offer sponsorship for a Lamdon School student who has been tragically affected by the flood, your generous donation can be sent to the following account. If you let me know of any wire transfers sent, I will convey the specifics to Mr. Eshey Tundup-principal of Lamdon School. Confirmations will need to be by verbal for the short term until internet facilities are re-established. I will send back all hard copies of receipts and itemized accounting of all new sponsorships when I return to Ladakh in March of 2011.
